Registration opens for returning athletes around the middle of January and usually opens up for new athletes a couple of weeks after that to give as many returning athletes first priority. All registrations must be completed through www.ctxchiefs.org website or app (https://ctxchiefs.org/current-programs). There are no other authorized forms of registration. Athletes must choose either TYFA or TXAAUYFL when registering for football.
Our 2024 registration fees are as follows: Flag (5U or 6U) $150 returning / $175 new athlete, Tackle $200 returning / $225 new athlete. Cheer is $400 for both TYFA & TXAAUYFL programs. A $50 deposit for football / $100 for cheer is required to register, no exceptions. We do offer payment plans that must be initiated when registering allowing for making equal payments over four installments. Failure to maintain current payments via the plan or any unpaid fees might result in loss of roster spot. There are no refunds for any fees paid or funds raised to support the CTX Chiefs Youth Sports Association.
All fees are processed through our league teamsideline registration portal and accept all credit/debit cards and CashApp ($ctxchiefs). Cash payments can be made in person to the league director or head team manager. All fees are due in full by 1 June 2024, no equipment or uniforms will be issued if fees are not paid in full.
Registration fees are deposited into our general funds account which covers all operational costs which includes storage, equipment, facilities, annual league fees, athlete certification costs, practice shirts and shorts, game uniforms, socks and other associated expenses. Any athlete that is paid in full and leaves the organization prior to uniforms being issued will only receive the custom jersey and not any other uniform apparel. Any special custom gear purchased will be given to the athlete.
There are NO REFUNDS for any custom purchases , donations, fundraisers or fees paid to CTX Youth Sports Association.
Yes, we have a limited number of athlete scholarships available to each team based on how much money is raised through sponsors and donations prior to 1 June 2024. Scholarships are provided on an as needed basis due to a family's financial situation and should not be used as a recruiting incentive solely for athletic purposes. All scholarship recipients must be approved by the board and are required to support organization and team events as part of repayment. Scholarships only apply to registration fees and do not cover fundraiser requirements, tournaments costs, or custom gear orders.
Waitlist are implemented once rosters reach a predetermined limit, not necessarily the max allowed by the league. Athletes are not required to pay any fees or participate in any fundraisers while on the waitlist. They are encouraged to attend camps, practices, and other team events in order to be prepared to move to the active roster. Athletes on the waitlist are not restricted from going to any other organization if they so choose but will be removed from the waitlist if they do so. Head Coaches are responsible for moving kids from the waitlist to their active rosters. Once a roster is locked, if there are any athletes still on the waitlist they will be notified. Any CTX Chiefs practice attire received while on the waitlist is the athletes to keep, no equipment is issued to athletes on the waitlist.
2024 will require ONLY ONE Mandatory Fundraiser, which will take place online via 99Pledges starting in June and running for 6-8 weeks. Athletes will have their own fundraiser page and request donations via social media and any other method they choose. There is a $100 buyout option that can be paid when registering or prior to the end of the fundraiser. If you have multiple siblings participating, they will all be included in one fundraising page or covered under one buyout. Athletes that raise $500 or more (per sibling if multiple sibling group) will earn free registration for the 2025 season. We will conduct volunteer fundraisers to help with annual costs prior to the start of the season when opportunities present themselves. Participation is not required by the more support the better the return on investment.
Individual teams and our cheerleaders will conduct fundraisers to help pay for tournaments, competitions and other events to include team bonding activities. Participation and types of fundraisers are determined and managed by the teams themselves. All monies are managed by the teams and reported to the organization at the end of the season in the form of a profit / loss statement.
We will host Sunday mini-camps starting in March 2024 and run through May 2024. Regular fall 2024 practices will begin in March for both TYFA and TXAAUYFL teams along with our cheer squads. Practice schedules will be posted online and through team apps.
As of now, mini-camps and practices will be at Clear Creek Elementary School on Ft Cavazos. Installation passes are generally not required but if you can obtain one it will benefit you to do so just in case. Games are scheduled to be played at Ellison High School in Killeen again this year. TXAAUYFL will be played on Saturday and TYFA on Saturday evenings or Sunday if there is a home game schedule conflict between leagues.
There will be 4 home and 4 away regular season games. TXAAUYFL away games will occur between Waco and Ausin, TYFA away games will be Austin to San Antonio depending on the number of organizations between Killeen and South Austin. TXAAUYFL playoff games will occur in the same area as regular season games. TYFA playoff games cover from KIlleen to San Antonio and different age groups can be playing in different locations at the same time.
All youth football leagues have there share of top tier and lesser teams. TXAAUYFL primarily represents Central Texas programs whereas TYFA offers opportunities to play a more diverse group of opponents in competitiveness and location. TYFA does require teams to be above .500 to qualify for the playoffs and does not offer consolation events for teams that do not qualify for playoffs as TXAAUYFL does with the Texas Bowl series.
TXAAUYFL is a local league that is affiliated with the AAU national brand offering postseason opportunities to include an All Star event vs Arkansas. TXAAUYFL cheer and football championships are located at local high schools. The TXAAUYFL season ends before Thanksgiving with postseason events running through December and into January. TYFA is one of the largest independent youth football league in the country and offers the most diverse competition along with an established cheer and football management structure and enforced compliance standards. TYFA football and cheer championships are events held at any of the several college facilities located in Texas. TYFA ends it season the second week of December with Cheer Competition having its own weekend prior to playoffs starting.
All football players will be provided with a custom uniform to include socks. We also provide helmet, shoulder pads, and practice jerseys that must be returned at the end of the season or whenever an athlete leaves the organization if prior to the end of the season. Athletes must provide their own mouthguard (connected to helmet), practice pants with pads for tackle, and cleats. We do have some pants and cleats available on a first come basis and sizes vary.
